The short version
The most important thing: Your URLs are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to our servers, never logged, and never stored anywhere we can see. URL Opener Pro is client-side by design.
URL Opener Pro ("we," "our," or "us") operates urlopenerpro.com. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect when you use our website and tool, how we use it, and what choices you have.
By using URL Opener Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the service. Here's exactly what that includes:
Account information (optional) โ If you create an account, we collect your email address and (if you sign in via Google) your public Google profile name. We do not require an account to use the core tool.
Usage data โ We collect anonymised analytics such as page views, session duration, feature interactions (e.g., button clicks), browser type, operating system, and approximate geographic region (country level). This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Payment information โ Payments are processed by our third-party provider (Stripe). We do not store your card number or full payment details on our servers. We receive a payment confirmation token and your billing email.
| Data type | Collected? | Stored on our servers? |
|---|---|---|
| URLs you open | โ Never | โ Never |
| Email address | โ If you sign up | โ Encrypted |
| Page analytics | โ Anonymised | โ Aggregated only |
| Payment data | โ Via Stripe | ๐ Token only |
| IP address | โ By server logs | ๐ 30 days, then deleted |
| Browser type / OS | โ Anonymised | โ Aggregated only |
How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and improve URL Opener Pro and its features
- To process payments and manage your subscription (Pro/Lifetime plans)
- To send transactional emails (e.g., payment receipts, password resets)
- To send the newsletter if you explicitly opted in (you can unsubscribe any time)
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, or fraudulent activity
- To understand how users interact with the tool and prioritise product development
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for behavioural advertising or tracking across other websites.
Your URLs are completely private
This deserves its own section. When you paste URLs into the tool and click "Open URLs," the entire operation happens in your browser via JavaScript. The URLs are never transmitted to our servers, never stored in a database, and never visible to us. Not even our server logs record them.
This is not a marketing claim โ it is a technical fact of how the tool is built. The URL processing code runs client-side only. You can inspect the source code of the page to verify this.
If you use the session history feature (Pro plan), your URL sessions are stored locally in your browser's storage and optionally synced to your account. Even in this case, URLs are stored with encryption at rest and are never processed server-side for any purpose other than retrieval by you.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: Authentication session tokens (if you are logged in), CSRF protection tokens. These are required for the service to function.
- Analytics cookies: We use privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-site tracking). These collect aggregated, anonymised data on page views and feature usage.
- Preference storage: Your tool preferences (e.g., smart delay setting, deduplicate toggle) are saved in your browser's localStorage so they persist between sessions. This data never leaves your device.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the free tool.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate URL Opener Pro:
- Stripe โ Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare โ CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS. Cloudflare may process your IP address. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Google OAuth โ Optional sign-in method. We only request your email and public profile. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Email provider โ Transactional and newsletter emails. We use a reputable email service provider (ESP) that is GDPR-compliant.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party. We only share the minimum data necessary for these services to function.
Your data rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under GDPR, CCPA, or applicable local law:
- Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Request that we correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Right to portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes.

How we protect your data
We take reasonable and appropriate technical measures to protect your personal information:

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you discover a security vulnerability, please email [email protected].

Your continued use of URL Opener Pro after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
